AG Platkin announces record-breaking results from Haskell Stakes at Monmouth Park

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the New Jersey Racing Commission have announced the results of the 58th Haskell Stakes, which took place on July 19, 2025, at Monmouth Park.

The event recorded a total handle of $21,999,959 and attracted 41,876 visitors. This marked the third consecutive year that betting records were broken on Haskell Day. The attendance was the highest since 2015 when Triple Crown winner American Pharoah drew 60,893 people to Monmouth Park.

The $1 million Haskell Stakes was won by Journalism. With this victory, Journalism has secured a free and guaranteed spot in the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in California on November 2, 2025.
