The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy recently hosted a networking event to welcome its newest international graduate students. The gathering took place during the first week of September and brought together current international students, recent alumni, and new arrivals.
At the event, alumni and current students shared their personal experiences about adapting to life and academics in a different country. They discussed both the difficulties and achievements they encountered as they adjusted to graduate school in a new environment. Incoming students received reassurance and advice on how to navigate these changes.
“We are especially proud to welcome students from diverse backgrounds and countries, whose perspectives enrich our classrooms, research, and community,” said organizers at the Bloustein School.
The school expressed appreciation for alumni who returned to offer guidance to new students. “We are grateful to the alumni who returned to give their time and insight to help new students feel supported and connected as they start their Bloustein experience. Their guidance serves as a bridge for international students learning to navigate both academic expectations and cultural adjustments.”
