The Bristol Myers Squibb-Pfizer Alliance announced on April 24 that it will partner with Mark Cuban’s online pharmacy, CostPlusDrugs.com, to make the prescription blood thinner Eliquis (apixaban) available directly to patients at a reduced price.

Eliquis is one of the most commonly prescribed anticoagulants in the United States. Starting Monday, April 27, patients will be able to purchase a 30-day supply of Eliquis for $346 through CostPlusDrugs.com. The typical retail price for those without insurance or discount cards ranges from $520 to $800 per month.

This partnership aims to provide another purchasing option for cash-paying patients and follows a direct-to-patient offering launched by the BMS-Pfizer Alliance in 2025 through its Elliquis 360 Support program, which can also be accessed via BMS Patient Connect. Adam Lenkowsky, chief commercial officer at Bristol Myers Squibb, said, “The BMS-Pfizer Alliance is pleased to expand our direct-to-patient options for accessing Eliquis — a medicine relied upon by millions of Americans daily — to the popular Cost Plus Drugs platform.” He added, “This new collaboration is grounded in a shared commitment to transparency and offers another meaningful solution to overcome access barriers, lower costs and broaden the availability of our medicines for the patients who need them.”

Mark Cuban, co-founder of Cost Plus Drugs said: “We’ve heard from a lot of people asking for Eliquis on Cost Plus Drugs, and this is about making sure they have a clearer, more direct way to access it. People shouldn’t have to guess what they’re going to pay for a medication they depend on. When you strip away the layers that drive up costs, you give people more control over how they get their prescriptions.”

Eliquis is used as an important treatment option for patients with atrial fibrillation not caused by heart valve problems in order to reduce stroke risk and blood clots. It also treats blood clots in veins or lungs and reduces their recurrence. For every 100,000 treated patients, Eliquis has resulted in an estimated $3 billion in total healthcare cost savings and avoidance related primarily to hospitalizations and extended rehabilitation needs.
