Christiana Foglio, a graduate of Douglass College and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, has been named one of six recipients of the Rutgers Alumni Association’s Loyal Sons & Daughters Award for 2026. The award is considered the highest recognition for service to Rutgers University, honoring individuals who have made significant contributions through volunteer work or by impacting university life and culture.

Foglio will be honored alongside Hollis Alphonso Copeland Jr., Anthony Covington, Jim Kelly, Sheila Kelly Hampton, and Joshua P. Weiss at an event scheduled for April 18 at the Livingston Campus Center. Tickets for the ceremony are available on the Rutgers Alumni Association website.

Since graduating from Douglass College in 1984 and from Bloustein in 1986, Foglio has held several leadership roles supporting Rutgers University. She has served on the Board of Trustees, the Foundation Board of Directors, and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey Director’s Advisory Board. Her support includes donations to the Douglass Residential College BOLD Center for Leadership, Career, and Personal Development as well as its annual BOLD Career Conference for students.

Foglio also contributed to the Bloustein School by serving on its Advisory Board and supporting funds such as the Academic Excellence Fund and Healthy Communities Initiative Fund. She established the Chris R. Foglio Annual Graduate Fellowship in Planning to support female graduate students in city and regional planning.

In 2013, she received the Bloustein School Alumni Career Achievement Award recognizing her personal and professional contributions that reflect a strong public service ethic. “The award recognizes an alumnus who has made significant personal and professional contributions, having demonstrated the highest standard of the public service ethic and whose commitment to civic improvement has brought credit to themselves and to the school,” according to Rutgers University.

Foglio is founder and CEO of Community Investment Strategies (CIS), Inc., where she oversees real estate investments aimed at merging public funding with private capital for community development projects. With over three decades of experience in both private and public sectors, she specializes in senior and multi-family housing aligned with community needs.
