Citizens Market Executive for Business Banking, Nuno Francisco, appeared on the latest episode of “Minding Your Business” on News 12+ to discuss the bank’s Jersey Shops community program. The initiative is a partnership with the New Jersey Devils NHL team and aims to support local businesses.

The Jersey Shops program awards $5,000 and provides promotional opportunities on the Devils’ website, along with business resources through Luminary, to four winners each season.

Francisco highlighted the impact of the program during his appearance. “One of the most rewarding pieces of the job is to kind of be able to sit in with those folks and see how the money’s impacting them, what their story is, [and] learn how they got into business,” Francisco said. “That’s really the best part, is getting an understanding of under the hood really what’s going on with folks and how they’re driving the success.”

“Minding Your Business” is produced by the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA), which serves as the nation’s largest statewide employer association. The organization represents private-sector employers throughout New Jersey and works to advance members’ competitive excellence while providing essential information and services. NJBIA also facilitates partnerships among businesses, government entities, and academic institutions across various sectors.

The show has received seven Telly Awards over three years, including a gold award in 2024 for Interview & Talk Show category. It airs on News 12+ at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday, as well as at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Michele Siekerka serves as president and chief executive officer of NJBIA. The association was established in 1910 and maintains its base in Trenton, New Jersey.
