A series of online presentations will be held by New Jersey’s community colleges and the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) to update the public on the progress of the Pathways to Career Opportunities initiatives. These initiatives focus on rapidly growing industries where there is a high demand for skilled workers.
The sessions are aimed at leaders from business, industry, labor unions, workforce development boards, vocational-technical schools, colleges, universities, and community-based organizations. The goal is to provide updates on efforts that are shaping workforce development in five sectors: Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management; Technology & Innovation; Health Services; Infrastructure & Energy; and Emerging Industries.
Six virtual meetings have been scheduled:
– Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m.: FY25 year-end reports on Infrastructure & Energy sectors from the Center of Workforce Innovation (CWI) for Construction and Renewable Energy.
– Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.: FY25 year-end report on Health Services from the CWI for Patient Care.
– Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m.: FY25 year-end report on Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management from the CWI for Manufacturing & Supply Chain Logistics.
– Monday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m.: FY25 year-end report on Emerging Industries from the CWI for Film & TV Production and Aseptic Processing & Biomanufacturing.
– Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.: FY25 year-end report on Technology & Innovation from the CWI for Data & Computer Science.
– Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.: FY25 year-end report on Emerging Industries from the CWI for Learning, Teaching and Research.
Participation in these one-hour virtual events is free. Zoom links will be sent to participants after registration.
The NJ Pathways to Career Opportunities initiative is led by the New Jersey Council of County Colleges (NJCCC) and NJBIA. Its purpose is to align educational programs with employer needs and create clear career pathways for students and adult learners across New Jersey. The program aims to develop a skilled workforce that supports economic growth and provides greater economic mobility through collaboration between community colleges, industry partners, and four-year universities.
