CoreWeave Inc., a cloud computing company specializing in artificial intelligence, has announced an agreement to acquire Monolith AI Limited. Monolith is known for its use of AI and machine learning to address complex challenges in physics and engineering.

The acquisition aims to strengthen CoreWeave’s position in sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

By combining Monolith’s machine learning capabilities with CoreWeave’s AI-focused cloud infrastructure, the two companies plan to offer a comprehensive platform for industrial and manufacturing businesses. This platform is intended to help users reduce research and development timelines, speed up product design processes, and gain competitive advantages through AI-driven innovation.

“Every leader we meet across the industrial and manufacturing sectors knows AI can transform their business,” said Brian Venturo, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at CoreWeave. “What they need are the right tools to use the technology to solve intractable physics and engineering problems.

Those challenges have historically slowed industrial innovation, and Monolith has closed that gap,” Venturo continued. “Together we will help these enterprises better harness AI to accelerate breakthroughs and bring better products to market faster.”

Richard Ahlfeld, Founder and CEO of Monolith, stated that his company was established to make AI accessible for engineers so they could develop new technologies. “Joining CoreWeave will allow us to scale that mission dramatically,” Ahlfeld said. “Together we will bring powerful tools and domain expertise to thousands more builders across industries who are eager to use AI but lack the infrastructure and know-how.”

Industry analysis from McKinsey suggests that using AI in complex manufacturing environments could boost R&D efficiency by between 20% and 80%. Monolith’s software is already used by major engineering firms like Nissan, BMW, and Honeywell as part of efforts to shorten product development cycles.

Monolith offers solutions such as anomaly detection, test plan optimization, and next test recommendation. These tools are designed so engineers can make quicker decisions without needing specialized knowledge in coding or artificial intelligence. By integrating machine learning into engineering workflows, Monolith helps decrease reliance on physical testing while aiming for improved quality outcomes.

CoreWeave noted that acquiring Monolith follows other recent moves—such as partnerships with OpenPipe for reinforcement learning applications and Weights & Biases for model iteration tracking—which align with its goal of providing essential cloud services for developing and deploying AI across different industries.

In addition, CoreWeave serves as the Official AI Cloud Computing Partner of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. The company supports this team’s efforts by powering its large-scale cloud computing facility dedicated to racing development.
