Steven Loeb, Chair for Tax, Trusts and Estates at CSG Law, appeared on “Minding Your Business” on News 12+ to discuss recent tax changes affecting estate planning and family planning. The discussion centered on the impact of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and what businesses should be aware of regarding these changes.

Loeb advised clients to consider current conditions when making financial decisions. “What we’re sort of telling clients is act wealthy while you can. Part of it is, with the stock market being at the higher level, you never know what a next administration will do,” Loeb said. “While it’s a permanent bill, if… the Democrats take control we could have a change in legislation again, but for the moment it’s permanent.”

He also noted the benefits of wealth transfers under current law. “But with that, when you make wealth transfers… you’re not just transferring the asset itself, it’s the appreciation, so if you can get discounts on certain things and take advantage of that and then the appreciation is moved over, that’s very helpful.”

“Minding Your Business” is produced by NJBIA as a weekly television program. Over the past three years, it has won seven Telly Awards—including a gold award in 2024 in the Interview & Talk Show category.
