The Protect & Serve Foundation will hold its annual golf tournament on October 14 at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster. The event is designed to support military personnel and first responders.

The tournament, which uses an 18-hole scramble format, will begin with registration and breakfast at 9:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch will be served on the course, and a dinner reception is scheduled for 4 p.m. Those interested in participating or sponsoring the event can find more information online.

Representatives from several organizations are expected to attend, including the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Police Honor Guard, New Jersey State Police, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, as well as members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and National Guard.

Funds raised from this fourth annual Protect & Serve Golf Classic will benefit the Protect & Serve Foundation itself along with two other nonprofits: the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) and the Basilone Memorial Foundation (BMF).

According to organizers, “The mission of the Protect & Serve Foundation is to provide financial assistance and resources to active and deceased members of the U.S. military, police and fire departments, and first responders.” Donations can be made directly through their website.
