Hilary Chebra has been promoted to Director of Government Affairs at the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey (CCSNJ). In her new role, Chebra will remain the organization’s main lobbyist in Trenton. She will also be responsible for planning policy-related events and producing public policy research reports focused on the South Jersey business community. Chebra will continue to report to Christina M. Renna, President & CEO of CCSNJ.

“Throughout her tenure at the CCSNJ, Hilary has taken her vast public sector experience and applied it successfully to assist our members, while never missing an opportunity to embrace and advocate for the issues of import to South Jersey’s private sector,” Renna said. “This promotion is beyond well-deserved, and we are proud to have Hilary serving in a more prominent policy role with the CCSNJ.”

Chebra expressed enthusiasm about her new responsibilities, stating it is an “incredible opportunity to continue to lead meaningful advocacy efforts, strengthen connections between our business community and government, and champion policies that drive growth and prosperity across the region.”

“I am confident in the CCSNJ’s ability to make a lasting impact and look forward to working with our members to ensure the South Jersey region remains a vibrant place to live, work, and do business,” Chebra said.

Before joining CCSNJ in 2020, Chebra worked as cabinet liaison in the office of former Governor Phil Murphy. She also served as Chief of Staff for Senator Troy Singleton (D-7). Chebra holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in international studies from Rowan University.

Founded in 1873 as the Camden Board of Trade, CCSNJ now represents over 1,200 member companies across seven counties in Southern New Jersey, Greater Philadelphia, and Northern Delaware.
