HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) CEO Chrissy Buteas has raised concerns about the “Great Healthcare Plan” announced by the Trump administration. The plan, which was unveiled on Thursday, includes potential policies related to price controls. Buteas expressed concern that such measures could negatively affect research efforts in the life sciences sector.
“Today’s proposal of mandatory price controls would cripple our ability to find those new treatments and cures,” Buteas said.
HINJ represents many of New Jersey’s largest life science companies. The organization is warning that if mandatory price controls are implemented as outlined in the plan, it could hinder innovation and limit progress in developing new therapies.
