Marc Pfeiffer, Senior Policy Fellow and Assistant Director of the Center for Urban Policy Research (CUPR), has been appointed Chair of Jersey City’s Budget Advisory Committee. The announcement was made by Mayor-elect James Solomon as part of his transition plans.

“Jersey City voted for change, and we’re not waiting until inauguration day to get to work,” said Mayor-elect James Solomon. “The committee members we’re announcing today are experienced leaders who share our commitment to making Jersey City more affordable, more accountable, and better run. I’m asking these leaders – and every Jersey City resident – to hold us accountable for delivering on the promises we’ve made. At the end of the committee’s work, we will have a plan that ensures we hit the ground running on Day One, and keep delivering results throughout our first term.”

The Transition Policy Committee is divided into nine groups focusing on various policy areas. Each committee brings together experts from different fields, community representatives, and civic participants to help shape early priorities for the incoming administration.

These committees will focus on two main goals: creating a First 100 Days Plan with specific actions intended to provide immediate benefits in areas such as housing affordability, public safety, and essential city services.
