The Middlesex College Foundation has received a $2.7 million donation from the estate of Paul Hilf, a former Vice President for Finance at Middlesex College. This is the largest gift in the foundation’s history.

The funds will be used to support allied health education by expanding scholarships and resources for students pursuing careers in nursing, radiography, dental hygiene, medical laboratory technology, respiratory care, and other related fields.

“Paul Hilf’s legacy of thoughtful leadership and advocacy continues through his estate’s generous donation,” said Middlesex College President Mark McCormick.

“We are profoundly thankful for his longstanding dedication to the College, which will support future health care professionals as they work to improve the lives of members of our community,” he said.

Hilf began working at Middlesex College in 1967 and served as Chief Financial Officer from 1973 to 1994. He was known for strengthening the college’s role in the community and played a key part in developing the Middlesex College Foundation. His efforts included acquiring land for campus expansion, negotiating with federal agencies on behalf of the college, and organizing events such as the Cultural Festival of India held on campus in 1991.

The foundation plans to use this gift to establish the Paul Hilf Center for Allied Health Education. The center will provide significant scholarships and program support for students interested in allied health professions.

“Paul Hilf’s personal and professional commitment to the college and the foundation’s mission was undeniable and unparalleled,” said Lisa Kelly, executive director of the Middlesex College Foundation. “Paul’s story is a testament to the power of philanthropy and community. His impact will live on—fueling dreams and shaping futures.”

This $2.7 million contribution follows another record-setting $2 million donation earlier this year from the Nayan and Bindu Dalal Family Foundation intended for renovations at the Performing Arts Center. These recent donations highlight ongoing donor confidence in Middlesex College’s future.

Since its founding in 1967, the Middlesex College Foundation has provided over $21 million in scholarships, financial aid, and grants to more than 19,000 students seeking access to higher education. More information can be found at middlesexcollege.edu/foundation.
