National Teacher Appreciation Week is observed from May 5 to May 9, 2025. This annual event also includes Teacher Appreciation Day and School Nurses Day, all celebrated during the second week of May. The New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) collaborates with the National PTA and the National Education Association to recognize public school employees’ contributions.

In New Jersey, public schools continue to excel in national indicators of educational success. “In recognition of all of the people who make New Jersey’s public schools the best in the nation, NJEA joins the National PTA, National Education Association and all our partners in honoring and applauding the work that public school employees do every day to help children achieve their full potential.”

The NJEA emphasizes that it is the people within these institutions who contribute significantly to their success. “As great as these statistics are, people are what makes our schools special,” they note, highlighting roles from cafeteria workers to teachers and nurses.

Throughout this week, gratitude is extended to those dedicated to New Jersey’s students: “This week, and every week, thank you to our members – the people who care about New Jersey’s school children!”

Additionally, educators can access deals and discounts compiled by The Bergen Record for Teacher Appreciation Week. NJEA Member Benefits offer year-round perks for its members.
