The New Jersey Citizen Action Political Action Committee (NJCA PAC) has announced its endorsement of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill in the upcoming race for New Jersey Governor.

Dena Mottola Jaborska, Executive Director of NJCA, stated, “New Jersey needs a leader who will stand up against the increasingly authoritarian actions and destructive policies of the Trump administration. She has consistently pushed back against the MAGA agenda and has been a steadfast defender of critical programs that New Jersey’s working families rely on, such as Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. At the same time, New Jersey is facing other urgent problems that are particular to our state. Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill will provide the strong leadership and the vision needed to take on these entrenched New Jersey problems.”

According to Jaborska, Sherrill’s campaign includes commitments to protect rights such as abortion and reproductive freedom, public health and safety, and equal justice. The statement highlights her pledges to invest in children through expanding the Child Tax Credit and affordable childcare, improve education and public schools, strengthen statewide transportation infrastructure, address housing affordability issues, and tackle rising utility costs.

Jaborska added: “Sherrill has pledged to protect fundamental rights such as abortion and reproductive freedom, public health and safety, and equal justice. She has committed to investing in our children by expanding the Child Tax Credit and affordable childcare, improving education and public schools, strengthening transportation infrastructure statewide, making homes more affordable and addressing the utility crisis. All these priorities are essential to the prosperity of New Jersey’s low- and moderate-income families.”

She concluded with a call for broad support: “NJCA looks forward to working with Congresswoman Sherrill once she is elected to address the harmful GOP federal cuts and the urgent state issues we are facing. We urge our fellow New Jerseyans to join us and elect Mikie Sherrill for Governor this fall.”
