The New Jersey Libertarian Party has expressed its support for digital privacy, decentralization, and the cessation of what it terms the “war on cryptocurrency.” The party emphasizes the importance of preserving technological innovation, including cryptocurrencies, end-to-end encryption messaging services, and virtual private networks (VPNs), as essential to a society governed by free market enterprise and individual liberties.

Criticism is directed at the Biden administration’s policies, specifically Operation Chokepoint 2.0, which the party claims have imposed discriminatory financial restrictions on the cryptocurrency industry. These actions are viewed as stifling innovation and violating free enterprise principles. The party calls on President Trump to fulfill his commitment to ending Chokepoint 2.0 and demands an end to other programs such as the Patriot Act and the Communication Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA).

The statement acknowledges President Trump’s pardon of Ross Ulbricht but highlights ongoing concerns regarding individuals like Roman Storm, Roger Ver, and Ian Freeman. The party argues that their prosecution represents unjust federal overreach against those exercising their rights to innovate and engage in consensual transactions. A call is made for President Trump to release Ian Freeman immediately and drop charges against others involved in cryptocurrency innovation.

Recognizing that new technologies can create unease, the party asserts that individual rights should not be compromised by political allowances. Current policies are criticized for targeting non-violent individuals participating in free exchange. The New Jersey Libertarian Party urges Americans to demand an end to state interference in digital affairs and encourages other Libertarian State Affiliates to join Tennessee’s resolution.
