The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will hold a routine emergency response exercise at LaGuardia Airport on Saturday, August 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to the agency, passengers and members of the public may see numerous emergency vehicles in and around the airport during this time.

Officials said that airport operations will continue as normal throughout the exercise. The training is part of a series of regular on-site drills held at major airports managed by the Port Authority.

The focus of Saturday’s exercise is to test the airport’s emergency plan for mutual aid response. This will allow airport staff and local emergency responders to train together and review their procedures. Participants in the drill include members of the Port Authority Police Department, civilian staff, as well as federal, state, local, and airline partners.
