Members of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) can now register for the 2025 NJEA Convention, which will be held in person and online. Registration in advance is recommended to speed up entry at the event. To register, members are directed to njea.org/conventionregistration and will need an email address as well as their NJEA personal identification number (PIN), found on their membership card.

After completing registration, attendees receive a follow-up email with additional details. Those registering for the in-person convention can also attend virtual sessions but must use their own device, preferably a laptop computer. The convention center does not provide designated spaces for participating in virtual sessions; members are advised to find a quiet area or return to their hotel rooms and use earbuds or headphones.

Badges for those who preregistered can be picked up at several locations throughout the convention center, with directional signs provided. Members who did not preregister should go to the second floor of the convention center upon arrival.

If a member did not receive their membership card, they may verify membership on site by bringing photo identification or access an image of their card through the NJEA website by logging into their account dashboard.

There is no preregistration available for workshops held on the third and fourth floors; attendance is first-come, first-served due to capacity limits. The Cvent Events app allows users to build itineraries but does not guarantee workshop seats.

Virtual workshops require advance registration through njea.org/conventionregistration. Keynote speakers Malala Yousafzai and Padma Lakshmi will be livestreamed for remote attendees, as will the State Board of Education meeting. After registering online, participants receive further instructions via email and are encouraged to use laptops rather than tablets or phones when attending virtually.

Certificates of attendance will be distributed differently based on participation: In-person attendees get certificates with their badges at the Atlantic City Convention Center; virtual attendees receive theirs via email after logging in on Nov. 6 or Nov. 7.

Professional development certificates will be issued electronically about three days after the convention ends. Badge scans are required upon entering each session, and evaluations must be completed for credit issuance. For all Hall A sessions, badge scanning occurs automatically using RFID technology; certificates appear in members’ online PD Transcripts.

According to New Jersey law N.J.S.A 18A:31-2 , full-time teaching staff members, secretaries, or office clerks have legal permission to attend this annual event without loss of salary if they submit a Certificate of Attendance signed by NJEA’s Executive Secretary.
