Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) is preparing for its 10th Annual Giving Day, set to take place on March 26. The event is a 24-hour online fundraising campaign aimed at supporting students, programs, and priorities at the college.
Last year’s Giving Day raised a record $203,655. Organizers hope to raise at least $200,000 this year, which would bring the total amount raised since the event began to $1 million.
A notable feature of this year’s campaign is the return of the “match challenge.” Three benefactors—Jim and Jill Gibson of Basking Ridge; Don and Penny Pray of Westfield and Jupiter, Florida; and The Caruso Family Foundation—have pledged a combined $75,000 in matching funds. If donors contribute $75,000 during Giving Day, an additional $75,000 will be added to the total.
Organizers have also set a goal for at least 50 individuals, companies, or organizations to each donate $1,000 or more on March 26.
“This is an important milestone year, and we invite everyone who believes in this college and its students to join us on March 26,” said Mike Marion, Executive Director of the RVCC Foundation and RVCC Alumni Association. “Giving Day provides an opportunity for the greater community to really demonstrate its support of, and belief in, this exceptional institution.”
Donors can choose from various programs and initiatives at RVCC when making their contributions. Options include student clubs, athletic teams, scholarship offerings, as well as centers like the Student Resource Center and Food Pantry and The Pray Family Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement. Donors may also specify other preferences not listed on the website.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to visit www.raritanval.edu/givingday on March 26 to make a minimum gift of $10. For more information about Giving Day or how to donate, contact Janet Dunne at 908-648-8355 or email janet.dunne@raritanval.edu.
