Richard Driscoll, a 40-year-old staff member of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), passed away suddenly on January 8. In his memory, a 529 College Savings Plan has been established to support his two-year-old son, Jack Driscoll.
Driscoll’s career at NJEA began in July 2017 when he was hired as a computer technician in the Information Systems unit. He quickly became known for his expertise and dedication, leading to his promotion as an associate director and senior IT support specialist in June 2024.
“There are no words to describe the hole left in our hearts with the passing of a great friend, Rich Driscoll,” expressed his colleagues in an earlier fundraiser intended to assist his wife Kimberly and their son Jack with immediate expenses. They added, “Rich’s personality lit up the room, and he was a genuine friend to everyone that had the fortune of crossing his path. We all are better people for knowing such a kind and generous soul.”
NJEA members and staff have been invited to contribute to Jack’s college savings plan through Ugift. Donations can be made at any time—on birthdays, holidays or special occasions—until Jack completes college.
