NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka appeared on a recent episode of “One on One with Steve Adubato” to discuss the importance of mentoring women in business leadership roles.

Siekerka emphasized the need for leaders to support the next generation. “One of the most important attributes of being a good leader is bringing people up behind you,” Siekerka said. “Whether it’s succession planning in your own organization, whether it’s ensuring that around your C-suite you have the diversity of thought leadership … it’s an imperative that we step back and we build the skills in those coming up behind us.”

The New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA), which Siekerka leads as president and chief executive officer, represents private-sector employers across New Jersey from industries such as manufacturing, retail, contracting, and services. The association was established in 1910 and is recognized as the largest statewide employer organization in the United States. Its headquarters are located at 10 West Lafayette Street in Trenton, New Jersey. More information about NJBIA can be found on its official website.

NJBIA provides advocacy, resources, and cost-saving benefits to help its members prosper. It also works to create partnerships among businesses, government entities, and academic institutions throughout New Jersey.
