United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby set for fireside chat at ReNew Jersey Business Summit

Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, will participate in a fireside chat at the ReNew Jersey Business Summit & Expo on March 31. The event will take place at Harrah’s Atlantic City and is organized by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

Kirby will be interviewed by Tom Bergeron, Founder & Editor of BINJE. Their discussion will cover topics such as the economy, the aviation industry outlook, and United Airlines’ commitment to New Jersey. The conversation is expected to highlight United’s investments in the state, job creation efforts, and its role within New Jersey’s business community.

Kirby has over thirty years of experience in the airline sector. He became CEO of United Airlines in 2020 after serving as president for four years. During his tenure, he led operations, marketing, sales, alliances, network planning, and revenue management. He also chairs the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board and serves on the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors. Before joining United Airlines, Kirby held senior positions at American Airlines and US Airways.

United Airlines operates a hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and is one of New Jersey’s largest employers with more than 14,000 employees based in the state. The airline connects New Jersey to over 160 destinations globally and generates an annual economic impact exceeding $16 billion.

The summit will also feature John A. Gallucci Jr., President & CEO of JAG Physical Therapy, as a speaker on March 31.

The two-day event from March 31 to April 1 is expected to attract more than 900 business leaders statewide. It includes keynote speeches, panel discussions focused on economic competitiveness in New Jersey, a business expo with over 100 exhibitors showcasing products and services from across the state, and multiple networking opportunities such as evening cocktail receptions and breakfast gatherings.

Panel topics include energy affordability and sustainability; higher education; healthcare challenges; innovation; economic development strategies; and overall competitiveness assessments. Attendees are expected from large corporations as well as small businesses alongside government officials at various levels plus representatives from labor organizations, academia, nonprofits, trade associations, and media outlets.

The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce supports workforce development through its foundation with an emphasis on future job skills.
