As ‘Bidenomics’ continues to struggle with public approval, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has launched a new series of advertisements targeting President Biden and his congressional allies. The ads, which are being broadcast across five Senate states, 26 Congressional districts, and Washington, D.C., aim to hold lawmakers accountable for their support of economic policies that AFP claims have led to higher prices.
The organization argues that inflation remains high due to $5.5 trillion in new spending during President Biden’s tenure. According to AFP, this spending has resulted in Americans needing an additional $11,400 annually just to cover basic expenses, with more than 60% of the population living paycheck to paycheck.
Akash Chougule, AFP Vice President of Government Affairs, stated: “President Biden wants Americans to think about anything besides Bidenomics. Yet while Biden’s allies in Congress are quickly ditching the Bidenomics slogan, their votes for Bidenomics policies are still costing Americans more. Democrats’ reckless spending policies created a 40-year inflation high that’s making it a nightmare for families to afford today’s new normal.”
This summer, AFP is conducting grassroots activities nationwide to gather stories from Americans affected by these economic policies. Last week, the organization hosted gas rollback events aimed at reducing fuel prices to pre-Bidenomics levels. Additionally, AFP’s "Bidenomics Buses" are traveling across the country to hear directly from those impacted by the administration's economic measures.
The new ad campaign is part of AFP’s extensive eight-figure effort intended to challenge President Biden and his congressional supporters on their economic record. This year-long initiative includes digital and mail outreach as well as door-to-door canvassing and phone calls designed to inform citizens and hold key lawmakers accountable. The campaign also features a dedicated website, Bidenomics.com.
AFP's advertisements will target 31 members of Congress including Senators Jon Tester (D-MT), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Bob Casey (D-PA), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI); and Representatives Mary Peltola (AK-AL), Greg Stanton (AZ-04), Josh Harder (CA-09), Mike Levin (CA-49), Yadira Caraveo (CO-08), Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Darren Soto (FL-09), Eric Sorenson (IL-17), Frank Mrvan (IN-01), Sharice Davids (KS-03), Jared Golden (ME-02), Elissa Slotkin (MI-07), Don Davis (NC-01), Chris Pappas (NH-01), Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), Gabe Vasquez (NM-02), Susie Lee (NV-03), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Pat Ryan (NY-18), Greg Landsman (OH-01), Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Emilia Sykes (OH-13), Susan Wild(PA -07 ), Matt Cartwright(PA -08 ), Chris Deluzio(PA -17 ), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez(WA -03 ).
