Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver issued a statement following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine and Danco Laboratories v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine.
"The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision today preserves access to necessary medication for American women across this country. Millions of women have used mifepristone, without issue, for decades. Access to safe abortion and miscarriage management should never be denied by extremists dictating a woman’s right to choose."
Oliver emphasized New Jersey's commitment to reproductive rights: "In New Jersey, we will continue protecting reproductive freedom and making reproductive healthcare more accessible, especially since the harmful Dobbs decision in 2022. The right to safe and accessible women’s healthcare should be a fundamental guarantee to all women."
She concluded with a hopeful outlook: "Following this decision, I hope to see a future where women all across the country have the right to choose."
