NJEDA extends deadlines for film and digital media workforce development RFI

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has announced an extension for the submission deadlines of its Request for Information (RFI) aimed at gathering insights from stakeholders in the film and digital media production industry. The RFI seeks to inform the design, parameters, and details of a forthcoming $5 million workforce training program.

Questions regarding the RFI can now be submitted until Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The deadline for submitting responses has been extended to Friday, June 28, 2024.

"The NJEDA is seeking information from respondents on the scope and characteristics of effective workforce training programs," stated an NJEDA representative. This initiative aims to support various occupations within the film and digital media sectors, including production assistants, accountants, studio managers, carpenters, grips, electricians, set-dressers, wardrobe assistants, and script supervisors.

In alignment with Governor Phil Murphy’s mission to enhance economic opportunities across New Jersey, the NJEDA is also soliciting input on supporting underserved populations through these industries. Specifically, it seeks methods to encourage the inclusion of minorities, women, and veterans in future workforce training programs.

The RFI invites responses from all interested parties within the film and digital media production industry. Participation is not restricted to those located in New Jersey.
