Trenton, N.J.—The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) President Christine Guhl-Sadovy has announced the promotion of Veronique Oomen as the new Director of the Division of Clean Energy (DCE). Prior to her promotion, Oomen served as Deputy Director of Distributed Energy Resources in DCE, overseeing Solar, Storage, Microgrids and Grid Modernization. She joined the NJBPU in 2021 as Project Manager, where she worked on the offshore wind team and led the development of the Competitive Solar Incentive Program.
“The Division of Clean Energy is the cornerstone of advancing New Jersey’s nation-leading clean energy agenda,” said President Guhl-Sadovy. “Veronique's strong leadership is crucial to the BPU building the solutions that will make energy cleaner and more affordable to all New Jerseyans. Her keen policy knowledge and attention to detail will make her an excellent addition to lead the State's diverse portfolio of clean energy programs.”

Before working at NJBPU, Oomen worked for DuPont for 17 years serving in various management roles in several countries. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is interested in Systems Theory. Oomen is a native of the Netherlands and holds an MSc degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Bradford – School of Management.

NJCEP, established on January 22, 2003, in accordance with the Electric Discount and Energy Competition Act (EDECA), provides financial and other incentives to residential customers, businesses, and schools that install high-efficiency or renewable energy technologies. The program aims to reduce energy usage, lower customers' energy bills, and mitigate environmental impacts. It is authorized and overseen by NJBPU.
