U20 Jamaica lacrosse team seeks donations for World Championship

The U20 Women’s Jamaica Lacrosse Team, comprising dedicated Jamaican and U.S. players, some from New Jersey, is seeking donations to compete in the upcoming World Championship in Hong Kong from August 11-25.

This championship is the pinnacle of lacrosse competition until the sport debuts in the 2028 Olympics.

The team includes coach Mark Wilson and player Hope Wilson of Fanwood; Makayla Mitchell of Aberdeen; and player Terese Palomino, who will attend Princeton University in fall 2024. Since forming a year ago, over half of the team has received college recruitment offers.

To compete, the U20 Women’s Jamaica Lacrosse Team needs to raise $31,000 to cover accommodations and airfare or risk losing their chance to play in the championship. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and residents, and all donations are tax-deductible.
