Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corporation has announced the promotion of MJ Sully, Esq. to senior managing director and chief fiduciary officer at Peapack Private, a division of Peapack-Gladstone Bank. Additionally, Sully has been appointed president of PGB Trust & Investments of Delaware, a subsidiary of the bank.
In her new role as part of the Peapack Private senior leadership team, Sully will oversee trust and estate professionals and support staff in both New Jersey and Delaware. These teams provide services in trust, estate, agency, IRA, foundation, tax, and custody administration. Sully joined the wealth management division of Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corporation in 2007.
Sully's legal career began in private practice before she served over 12 years as a government attorney. Her roles included assistant municipal attorney for the Township of West Orange and special probate counsel for both the Essex County Surrogate’s Court and the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Probate Part.
Sully has lectured on topics such as probate litigation and fiduciary duties for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. She was also the keynote speaker at its 56th Semi-Annual Tax & Estate Planning Forum. Her expertise has been featured on the Discovery Channel's TV series "The Will."
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Sully serves on the board of the County College of Morris Foundation and is a mediator for the Essex County Probate Early Settlement Panel. She is also part of LIFT (Leading Inspiring Females Together) at Peapack-Gladstone Bank.
Sully is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame, an MSA from Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, and a JD from Notre Dame School of Law. During her undergraduate years, she was part of Notre Dame’s Women’s National Championship Fencing Team and was recognized as a scholar athlete.
