BIOQuébec, BioNJ, and Choose New Jersey have announced the signing of a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening cooperation between the life sciences sectors in Quebec and New Jersey. The agreement was signed during Choose New Jersey's economic mission to Canada, led by the state's governor. This strategic partnership will create opportunities for members of both organizations to access new resources, connect with international markets, and participate in events designed to stimulate innovation and growth in biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
"The New Jersey is the home of innovation, with an expanding life sciences sector thanks to collaboration with industrial partners abroad," said Governor Murphy. "The partnership between BIOQuébec and BioNJ is a step forward to achieve crucial outcomes aimed at advancing research and development, education, and overall growth while advocating for patients' interests in New Jersey and beyond."
The MOU provides a framework for cooperation that includes sharing best practices, promoting bilateral events such as trade missions, and participating in joint conferences. This collaboration will allow the life sciences communities of both regions to expand their reach and impact globally.
This partnership signifies a significant commitment from both organizations to advance their respective sectors while creating tangible opportunities for their members. Additional details on specific events and opportunities arising from this partnership will be communicated to members in the coming months.
Benoit Larose, President-Director General of BIOQuébec, stated: "We are thrilled to partner with BioNJ through this memorandum of understanding. In today's global context where the life sciences industry faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities, it is crucial for trade associations like ours to cultivate strong relationships with international partners. This partnership will enrich the biotech sectors of Quebec and New Jersey through knowledge sharing and joint initiatives, representing a concrete step towards expanding our industries' influence abroad."
"Throughout Quebec, the United States, particularly here in New Jersey, many companies have forged durable strategic partnerships," commented Debbie Hart, President & CEO of BioNJ. "Alliances like that between BioNJ and BIOQuébec serve as catalysts for innovation by sparking new ventures and fostering cutting-edge research collaborations. We look forward to uniting our members in a common mission aimed at elevating the life sciences sector with the ultimate goal of accelerating transformative medical breakthroughs for patients worldwide."
