The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has announced an extension for the submission deadline of its Request for Information (RFI) aimed at entities involved in registered apprenticeship programs. The new deadline is set for 5:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
The NJEDA's RFI seeks to gather insights from qualified organizations that offer registered apprenticeship programs and have perspectives on establishing new training centers in Overburdened Communities. This information will assist the NJEDA in understanding the requirements and characteristics necessary for a potential grant program that would support the planning, implementation, and funding of new or expanded training facilities.
According to the NJEDA, "the responses will help the Authority better understand the registered apprenticeship landscape, especially in regard to physical locations of training facilities." The aim is to reduce barriers to training and employment while helping New Jersey employers retain skilled workers.
Qualified entities with experience in U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship programs are encouraged to submit their responses by email to WorkforceInnovation@njeda.gov with the subject line: “RFI Response-2024 [RFI-229]”.
