The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has issued a travel advisory for the week of September 20 to 26, detailing several lane closures and service changes across its facilities.
Significant lane closures are planned at the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel, Bayonne Bridge, and Outerbridge Crossing. Additionally, AirTrain Newark will be suspended for routine maintenance from Saturday night to Sunday morning, with free shuttle buses providing alternate service.
Security screening delays are expected at Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal B due to ongoing airside rehabilitation work. Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time.
Travelers using John F. Kennedy International Airport should expect delays or reroutes due to construction related to the airport's $19 billion redevelopment project. The Port Authority encourages the use of mass transit such as MTA New York City Transit subway or buses and MTA Long Island Rail Road. Motorists can utilize the free drop-off, pickup, and waiting lot at Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain JFK station.
