From late evening on Friday, October 4, through early morning on Sunday, October 6, the George Washington Bridge’s North Walk will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists for maintenance.
The sidewalk will receive a protective coating aimed at fortifying the structure and reducing future maintenance needs. This effort is intended to ensure that the path remains safe and accessible for both pedestrians and cyclists. The work has been scheduled over the weekend to avoid disruptions to weekday commuting traffic on the walkway. Vehicle lanes on the bridge will remain unaffected during this period.
The maintenance work is weather dependent, with a rain date set for October 18-20. Users are advised to monitor @PANYNJ_GWB on X for updates.
