GoMo Health has been recognized as one of the nation’s first certified Recovery Friendly Workplaces (RFW) by the Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation (GRI) National Recovery Friendly Workplace Institute. This recognition led to GoMo Health's participation in a roundtable discussion at the White House Summit for National Recovery Month, hosted by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
Dr. Rahul Gupta, Director of the White House Drug Control Policy, stated, “With tens of millions of Americans in recovery from substance use disorder, we know that employers play a critical role in supporting the recovery journey." He added, "We are grateful to the business leaders joining us at the White House today to highlight the critical work they’re doing in their communities to both support individuals in recovery and strengthen their organizations. We call on all employers to join our whole-of-society efforts to be a more recovery-ready nation.”
In an effort to assist other organizations in achieving RFW status, GoMo Health has introduced Recovery Pathways: Workplace. This program aims to empower employers and human resources teams with tools to create psychologically safe environments. The program includes psychological safety training for supervisors and employees, guidance for those in treatment or recovery, and support for families.
Cathie Hartnett, executive director of Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation, commented on GoMo Health's efforts: “As part of the Institute’s vision is to ensure employers are equipped with tools and resources to establish recovery-friendly work environments, knowing that GoMo Health is one of the first nationally certified RFWs, they are uniquely positioned to help other businesses achieve that through their program, Recovery Pathways: Workplace."
The program aims to reduce workplace impacts from substance use through early intervention and prevention while providing personalized support via mobile technology. Bob Gold, CEO and chief behavioral technologist at GoMo Health said, “We are proud to be partnering with the Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation...and working with the White House to help build a more recovery-ready nation.” He emphasized their mission "to provide a whole-person approach to recovery" and expressed hope for reaching more Americans.
