Governor Phil Murphy expressed deep sorrow and anger over the death of Detective Sgt. Monica Mosley, who was killed during a home invasion in Bridgeton.
In his statement, Governor Murphy said, “I am outraged and heartbroken by the murder of Sgt. Monica Mosley, who was shot and killed during a home invasion in Bridgeton last night.”
Sgt. Mosley served with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office as a detective. Governor Murphy highlighted her dedication to her role: “As a detective with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, Sgt. Mosley served her community with distinction, working every day to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Cumberland County."
He emphasized that this violent act affects not only those close to Sgt. Mosley but also the broader law enforcement community across New Jersey.
Governor Murphy concluded his remarks by offering condolences: “Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved Sgt. Mosley. May she rest in peace.”
