NJBIA appoints two executives to its Board of Trustees

The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) has announced the appointment of two new executives to its Board of Trustees. Bernie Corrigan, president of IBEW Local 102, and Kiran Handa Gaudioso, CEO of United Way of Northern NJ and president of United for ALICE, have been elected to three-year terms. These appointments bring the board's membership to 21.

Michele Siekerka, NJBIA President & CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions: “We are excited to welcome Bernie and Kiran to our Board of Trustees. Their expertise and commitment to making New Jersey a better place to live, work and raise families will be an asset to our very accomplished, highly engaged board as it continues to expand and be more reflective of our diverse membership.”

Bernie Corrigan has led IBEW Local 102 since 2009. The union provides skilled electricians for over 200 licensed electrical contractors. Corrigan also directs the union’s apprenticeship program accredited by the American Council on Education. His educational background includes a B.A. in Leadership and Administration from the National Labor College and a master’s degree from Rutgers University School of Management and Labor Relations.

Kiran Handa Gaudioso took on her role as CEO at United Way of Northern New Jersey in 2020 after nearly ten years with the organization. She leads efforts focused on ALICE individuals—those who earn above the Federal Poverty Level but less than necessary for economic stability. Gaudioso holds an M.A. in political science from The Eagleton Institute at Rutgers University and a B.A. from Syracuse University's Maxwell School.

The NJBIA board also announced that trustee Marcy Bliss has retired following her tenure as CEO of Wedgewood Pharmacy.
