Port Authority advises travelers of significant disruptions from Nov. 22–26

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has issued a travel advisory for the period from November 22 to November 26, urging travelers to plan ahead due to expected lane closures and service changes at several key transportation facilities. The agency advises using mass transit where possible, especially in light of ongoing construction at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Travelers are encouraged to consider additional travel time as lane closures will affect the Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel, Bayonne Bridge, and Outerbridge Crossing. At JFK, a $19 billion redevelopment project is underway, causing potential delays for motorists and those using for-hire vehicle services. "Customers are strongly advised to use mass transit to and from the airport," said the Port Authority.

Specific lane closure details include:

- **Holland Tunnel**: The New Jersey-bound tube will be closed on certain nights due to Superstorm Sandy-related repairs.

- **Lincoln Tunnel**: Closures will affect various tubes at different times between November 23 and November 27.

- **Bayonne Bridge**: A southbound right lane closure is scheduled for November 26.

- **Outerbridge Crossing**: An eastbound right lane will be closed from late Friday night into Saturday morning.

At airports including Newark Liberty International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and JFK, travelers are urged to pre-book parking spaces or face surcharges and limited availability. Parking demand management measures are being implemented across these locations.

The advisory also includes updates on public transportation services such as PATH trains, which will experience altered schedules due to track work over the weekend of November 23-24.

"To manage on-airport parking demand...the Port Authority is urgently calling on air travelers to use mass transit," states the advisory. It also notes that changes at JFK's Terminal 4 involve relocating pick-up areas due to construction activities.

Travelers can find more information about specific changes by visiting Construction.JFKAirport.com or by checking updates through official channels such as RidePath mobile app for PATH services.
