Americans for Prosperity-Kansas addresses energy policy concerns

On Friday, Americans for Prosperity-Kansas (AFP-KS) organized an event outside Westlake Ace Hardware in Topeka to address concerns about the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) and other policies that could influence electric rates in Kansas. This topic is expected to be significant in the upcoming legislative session.

AFP-KS engaged with shoppers to discuss ROFR and encouraged them to contact their elected officials regarding energy policy issues. The organization plans to return to Westlake Ace Hardware today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for further discussions on maintaining affordable energy costs for Kansans, alongside distributing free lightbulb packages. Media representatives are invited to cover the event.

Liz Patton, AFP-KS State Director, stated: “AFP has heard from countless Kansans concerned over energy costs and keeping our state affordable through pro-consumer policies. Next session, we’re excited to work with lawmakers to ensure competition, not state-sanctioned monopolies, are at the forefront of our work to deliver affordable solutions for our energy abundant state.”
