Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi (AFP-MS) has released its 2024 Legislative Scorecard, offering an overview of how state lawmakers voted on significant legislation during the recent session. The scorecard covers areas such as healthcare, education freedom, and economic issues, aiming to provide residents with a clear understanding of their representatives' actions.
The scorecard is intended as a tool for accountability, allowing Mississippi residents to assess how well their elected officials are representing them in office. AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown emphasized the importance of policy changes that benefit Mississippians: "Driving policy change that removes barriers for Mississippians seeking a life of prosperity is our priority. Our scorecard ensures that transparency between Mississippians and their representatives is at the forefront, bringing the voice of our residents to the legislature."
Brown also expressed appreciation for the legislators' work during the past session and anticipation for future policies: "We appreciate the work this past session of our legislators and look forward to continued policies that build a better Mississippi in 2025."
The focus of the scorecard was on several bills discussed during the 2024 legislative session.
