The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and NJ TRANSIT are reaching out to gather input from various stakeholders on the state's long-term transportation strategy, "Keep It Moving NJ." The plan, which will extend over 25 years, aims to encompass all transportation modes within the state, including public transit, roads, walking, cycling, trains, vehicles, waterways, and aviation.
An online survey has been launched to assist in shaping this comprehensive plan. NJDOT and NJ TRANSIT are inviting participation from employers, commuters, mass transit users, local government leaders, travelers, and residents. The goal is to understand public priorities for enhancing mass transit and road infrastructure while also expanding options for walking, biking, and other active transportation forms.
"Transportation is essential to New Jersey’s daily life, connecting communities, supporting the economy, and improving quality of life for its over 9 million residents," stated NJDOT Commissioner Francis O’Connor. "NJDOT is committed to creating a transportation system that meets the needs of all New Jerseyans now and in the future."
Public engagement is central to "Keep It Moving NJ," with feedback from residents being integral in shaping the plan. There will be multiple opportunities for individuals to share their experiences and opinions both in-person and online throughout the planning process.
