NJ Transit announces holiday season discounts including kids ride free offer

NJ TRANSIT has announced several holiday promotions aimed at encouraging travel across New Jersey and beyond. The transit agency is reintroducing its "Bring a Friend" and "City Pass" deals, alongside the family SuperSaver program throughout December.

The "Bring a Friend for the Holidays" promotion allows NJ TRANSIT customers to use a special promo code via the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App to buy one round-trip ticket and receive another free. Customers need to select four one-way tickets between their origin and destination, applying the promo code at checkout. All tickets must be activated on the same day and are not valid for trips involving Newark Liberty International Airport, Metro North, or SEPTA services. This offer runs until January 5th.

For those looking to explore Philadelphia or Atlantic City, NJ TRANSIT offers a 40% discount on round-trip rides through unique promo codes available in their mobile app. Like the previous offer, all four one-way tickets must be used on the same day with each code redeemable once per customer before January 5th.

The Family SuperSaver program lets up to two children aged 11 or younger travel free with each fare-paying adult from now until January 6th. Tickets purchased under these promotions are non-transferable, non-refundable, and must be bought via the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App.

Customers can take advantage of these offers by using promotional codes during eligible dates when purchasing tickets through the app. The app currently holds a high rating of 4.8 on the Apple App Store with over 230,000 reviews.

NJ TRANSIT is recognized as the largest statewide public transportation system in the U.S., providing over 925,000 weekday trips across its extensive network that includes bus routes, light rail lines, commuter rail lines, and paratransit services.
