The New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology (CSIT) has announced an expansion of the ResearchwithNJ website. This development increases the number of participating research institutions from five to eight, offering access to over 365,000 pieces of research output and nearly 7,000 researcher profiles. The platform is designed to connect companies, faculty, and entrepreneurs to foster academic research and business collaborations.
The recent additions include Stevens Institute of Technology, Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, and Kean University. These institutions join Montclair State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Princeton University/Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Rowan University, Rutgers University, and others in showcasing their research.
Judith Sheft, CSIT Executive Director stated: “Our close ties to both the startup community and the state’s many academic institutions made the management of ResearchwithNJ by CSIT a natural fit.” She anticipates that this expansion will strengthen connections between New Jersey's universities and industry.
ResearchwithNJ aims to highlight leading experts and facilities in New Jersey while increasing opportunities for partnerships based on scientific breakthroughs. Debbie Hart, CSIT Vice Chair remarked: “Through ResearchwithNJ, we are harnessing the brainpower of our state’s highly talented researchers.”
Dr. Brian Bridges noted that "ResearchwithNJ is bridging academia and industry," enhancing collaboration opportunities for students and faculty. Dr. Sandra Elliot from Hackensack Meridian Health expressed excitement about launching Research with Hackensack as part of this initiative.
Dr. Keith Bostian from Kean University highlighted their pride in joining ResearchwithNJ as it supports their efforts toward R2 status and commercialization pathways for research entrepreneurs.
Ed Synakowski from Stevens Institute emphasized their commitment to making transformative research accessible through this partnership with ResearchwithNJ.
The portal was developed under an Advisory Board comprising representatives from participating universities and various industry bodies such as NJEDA and BioNJ. This board ensures the sustainability and success of the platform.
