HINJ appoints Kyle Sullender as director for government relations

HealthCare Institute of New Jersey has announced the appointment of Kyle Sullender as the new Director of Government and External Relations. The announcement was made by Chrissy Buteas, President and CEO of HINJ.

“I am delighted to welcome Kyle to the HINJ team as Director of Government and External Relations,” said Buteas. “His unique insight and experience will strengthen HINJ’s ability to advocate on behalf of patient access and New Jersey’s innovation ecosystem.”

Sullender previously worked as Director of Economic Policy Research for the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), focusing on enhancing New Jersey's business environment. He also served as Executive Director of Focus NJ, a nonprofit organization dedicated to economic and workforce research in support of public policy.

“New Jersey’s life sciences are hard at work finding new treatments and cures for some of the world’s most dreaded diseases, and I’m honored to join an organization focused on advancing issues around such critically important efforts,” Sullender stated. “The HINJ team is highly respected in Trenton and Washington, and I’m excited to assist their advocacy on behalf of the patient community they serve.”

Sullender graduated summa cum laude from Rowan University with degrees in journalism and philosophy. He earned his Master of Public Policy from Rutgers University – New Brunswick in 2019. Sullender lives in Cherry Hill with his family.

“Kyle’s strong background and experiences will further enhance HINJ’s capabilities and increase the already significant impact the HINJ team has on behalf of our membership. We’re excited to add him to our stellar team,” Buteas added.
