New Jersey launches employer survey on earned sick leave law

The Employers Association of New Jersey (EANJ) has launched a statewide survey aimed at evaluating employer awareness and compliance with New Jersey’s Earned Sick Leave Law. This initiative is part of the Cultivating Access, Rights, and Equity (CARE) Grant Program, funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Amy Vazquez, Vice President of EANJ, stated, “EANJ’s mission is to help employers make sound and responsible employment decisions. This survey is an opportunity to gather meaningful feedback directly from employers, ensuring we can better address their needs and support compliance with employment-related laws.”

The survey will be conducted electronically and via phone interviews to ensure broad participation. Responses will remain anonymous, with results shared in aggregate form. The feedback collected aims to guide EANJ's ongoing outreach efforts and its collaboration with the NJDOL.

Christine Myers, President of EANJ, emphasized the importance of this effort: “Supporting employers through outreach and education is the foundation of our work. This survey is a key component of the CARE Grant, and we encourage all employers, regardless of size or industry, to participate. By doing so, they contribute to a broader understanding of how this law impacts the New Jersey business community.”

EANJ has been involved in the CARE Grant Program for two years. The program focuses on increasing awareness about workplace rights such as earned sick leave and other labor standards.
