Summit to discuss future of life sciences in New Jersey

An educational summit focusing on the future of New Jersey's life sciences industry is scheduled for March 7 in Edison. Organized by the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey, the event will address medical advancements, economic factors, and policies that encourage innovation within the sector.

The half-day summit will include breakfast, three panel discussions, and a lunch reception. Topics to be covered are "Saving Lives Around the World by Finding Cures in New Jersey," "New Jersey’s Life Sciences: Our Economic Engine," and "Innovation Ecosystem: Partnering on Policies."

Richard Bagger, partner and executive director of Christie 55 Solutions, will moderate the first panel. Participants include Patrick Collins from the National Organization for Rare Disorders and David Perlin from Hackensack Meridian Health Center for Discovery and Innovation.

Michele Siekerka, President & CEO of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, will lead the second discussion. Panelists Tim Sullivan from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, Peter Connolly from the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, and Chanelle Scott McCullum from Middlesex County will share insights.

The third session will be moderated by Christopher Paladino of DEVCO and HELIX NJ. Ali Houshmand from Rowan University and Teik C. Lim from NJIT are among those contributing to this discussion.
