The New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey have announced the continuation of their partnership to provide discounted YMCA memberships for Horizon members. This initiative, available at 41 locations across New Jersey, aims to enhance access to health and wellness programs.
"Physical activity has countless benefits to strengthen the spirit, mind and body," said YMCA Alliance CEO Julie Gallanty. "We’re thrilled to join forces with Horizon to ensure more people can access the Y’s healthy living programs and supportive resources."
Horizon members will receive a 15% discount on monthly YMCA memberships through December 31, 2025. Additionally, new members joining the Y will benefit from waived initiation fees at participating branches.
"Horizon is grateful to collaborate with the Alliance for a second year to make it easier and more affordable to engage in a healthy lifestyle by joining a local YMCA," stated Uli Diaz, Horizon’s Senior VP of Government & Community Affairs.
"YMCAs have long been community hubs and trusted partners for generations of New Jerseyans who have learned to swim, joined a team, and improved their physical fitness and overall health," Diaz continued. "Through this collaboration, participating YMCAs are more affordable for our members, and we reaffirm a shared goal of empowering individuals to achieve their best health."
The YMCA Alliance represents 30 independent YMCA associations throughout New Jersey. This collaboration builds on an established relationship between the two organizations.

YMCA facilities offer diverse services beyond traditional fitness programs. They include swimming lessons, childcare services, summer camps, youth sports recreation as well as chronic disease prevention programs and social services aimed at connecting individuals with vital community support.
