OU LA Restaurant & Bar in Carteret is holding a soft opening this week, with plans for an official grand opening soon. The establishment brings a mix of Caribbean flavors and craft cocktails to New Jersey.
The soft opening will continue until Thursday, February 20, with operating hours from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., Sunday through Saturday. Located at 29 Washington Ave., the restaurant offers an innovative menu that combines traditional Caribbean influences with modern culinary techniques. Notable dishes include New Zealand Grilled Lamb Chops, marinated in Caribbean spices, and Colossal Crab Cake served with remoulade sauce.
The cocktail program at OU LA features expertly crafted drinks such as the Exit 12, which includes gold rum, white rum, passionfruit, pineapple, mango, and lime. Another offering is the Raspberry Beret, made with gin, raspberry, lemon, and elderflower.
Beyond food and beverages, OU LA aims to provide a sensory experience through curated playlists and live music in an ambiance inspired by culture and creativity. The atmosphere is designed to engage guests as much as the cuisine.
"OU LA is more than just a restaurant—it’s a celebration of culture, flavors, and community," says Nagela Duperval, Owner of OU LA Restaurant & Bar. "We’re excited to share our take on Caribbean-inspired cuisine with a sophisticated touch."
