Applications are now open for the Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research (IFH) Summer Research Internship Program. This program is tailored for undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in public health, biomedical, or social science research. The internship offers a 10-week opportunity for students to gain practical experience on projects related to the interdisciplinary areas of research at IFH.
The program encourages candidates who are interested in exploring health disparities among diverse racial and ethnic populations to apply. Participants will engage in hands-on research under the guidance of a faculty mentor, with whom they will meet at least once a week. Additionally, interns will receive mentorship regarding their research careers and have the chance to attend seminars at the Institute for Health in New Brunswick, NJ.
The internship begins the week of June 9 and concludes with a final presentation during the week of August 11. Participants may take summer classes or hold other employment while participating in the program, which requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. A stipend will be provided to participants.
Eligibility criteria include being an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in fields such as public health, biomedical sciences, social sciences, social work, public policy, or health economics within the United States. Applicants must be able to commit to over 20 hours per week from June 9 through August 15.
Interested individuals should submit their applications by April 6, 2025. Required materials include a resume or CV and a one-page cover letter detailing their interest in research and preferred project choices.
