NJ budget proposal sparks business concern on 'Minding Your Business

On a recent episode of "Minding Your Business" on News 12+, NJBIA Chief Government Affairs Officer Christopher Emigholz discussed Governor Phil Murphy's budget proposal for the fiscal year 2026. Emigholz expressed concerns about the proposal, particularly its impact on businesses and the ongoing fiscal challenges.

"Similar to last year’s disappointment, which I think exceeded disappointment last year with the tax on the business community, I see it disappointing again," Emigholz remarked during his conversation with host Bob Considine.

Emigholz pointed out that New Jersey continues to face a structural deficit issue. "We have the same kind of stubborn recurring structural deficit that we’ve had in recent years and that’s not fixed. It’s a little smaller than it used to be. But we still have this $1.2 billion where we’re spending more than we’re bringing in. That’s not sustainable."

The discussion aired as part of NJBIA's "Minding Your Business," a weekly television program recognized for its quality content, having won seven Telly Awards over three years, including a gold award in 2024 for Interview & Talk Show.
