Jon Bramnick, a New Jersey State Senator, announced that he has discussed various affordability and insurance policy issues with residents of Garfield and is ready with solutions to address these concerns. This statement was made on the social media platform X on March 28.
"Great night in Garfield with Dr. Nasiek and an engaged crowd," said Bramnick. "We covered everything from medical insurance and affordability to immigration, car insurance, property taxes, and schools. I am prepared with real solutions to get New Jersey back on track and affordable for workers and families."
According to the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, state-level reforms have significantly improved access to affordable health coverage, particularly through the NJ FamilyCare and Get Covered NJ programs. In 2024, residents eligible for financial assistance received an average of $566 per month to reduce premium costs. These initiatives are part of the state's broader strategy to maintain one of the lowest uninsured rates in the country.
Patch reported that the average residential property tax bill increased to $10,095 in 2024, positioning New Jersey as one of the most expensive states for homeowners in the United States. This represents a rise from $9,803 in 2023, despite statewide efforts to manage municipal and school funding expenditures. Property taxes continue to be a significant financial burden for families, prompting ongoing legislative discussions around tax reform and regional consolidation.
Bankrate indicates that car insurance in New Jersey ranks among the highest nationwide, with an average annual cost of $2,938 for full coverage. Minimum coverage still averages a substantial $1,272 annually due partly to densely populated roadways and higher litigation risks within the state. Despite some regional variations, New Jersey drivers face premiums well above the national average.
According to his website, Bramnick is a longtime public servant who previously served as Assembly Republican Leader and is currently a State Senator for New Jersey’s 21st district. A lawyer and former business law professor, he founded a successful law firm and is committed to reducing living costs, enhancing public safety, and restoring political balance in New Jersey.
