The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has announced that it will hold several information sessions related to the Route 80 Business Assistance Grant Program. This program aims to provide support to small businesses in Morris County that have been financially impacted by lane closures on Route 80 due to ongoing sinkhole repairs. The NJEDA Board approved the program at its monthly meeting.
The grant program offers financial assistance ranging from $1,000 to $15,000. Eligible participants include small businesses and non-profits with up to 50 full-time employees, located within a five-mile radius of Route 80’s Exit 34 in Morris County. Applicants must certify a financial loss of at least $1,000 for the first quarter of 2025 to qualify.
In-person and virtual sessions will be available for business owners to understand the eligibility requirements and application process. The in-person session is scheduled for Monday, April 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The location is the Wharton Municipal Building in Wharton, N.J. Business owners attending this session are encouraged, but not required, to bring a laptop or tablet for application access.
Additionally, the Small Business Administration's Business Recovery Center, located at the same venue, offers information on federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans during specified hours throughout the week.
Virtual sessions will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., and Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
